The software developed by Playlist Software Solutions are very efficient as using the equipment resources. In modern equipment, we were surprised by the low CPU consumption. The minimum requirements to use the software are fulfilled by the pattern equipment available in the market.  Older equipment, 3 years or older show more hardware problems, by the use and by the hardware outdated, which commits the programming of the radio station.
We recommend the priority to the equipment, not to the performance, once the requirements allow that any computer available in the market to be able to play, without any problems, any software developed by Playlist. We’ve found a low rate of problems on computers that use on-board video devices, but that doesn’t mean a technical specification to use off-board video devices. About the on-board sound devices, their quality is acceptable to pre-listen the audio files, not acceptable to play a radio station’s programming.


Playlist software are projected to work in any processor for PC, as the most common are Intel and AMD. Usually, the Intel’s processors are more used, that also points to the facility to buy, once they have 80% of the processors market. In all of our test bases, we always use Intel, that why we recommend the Intel i3 or above (i5 or i7). Intel i5 has a good cost-benefit relation.


In any computer configuration, the minimum required is a 4GB RAM Memory, or, according to the minimum requirements of the Operating System, but we recommend using computers with 8GB or more.

Hard Disk:

Remember that, with more disk space, more audio files can be stored, both on recordings and available for programming. Always get the disk with most space available in the market, looking a good cost-benefit relation.  The disks installed on today’s equipment have enough performance to the software’s perfect use. We recommend the use of 7200 RPM hard disks; they have a lower latency and accessible prices. In tests with SSD disks, the performance impressed us. If you want higher performance equipment, you’ll be able to install a 240GB SSD as main disk and a 1TB or bigger disk as a secondary disk unity, to store the content.

Sound Board:

The Playlist Digital and Logger 2.0 will run in any audio board with WDM support. We recommend that in the main studio and for recording, soundboards with excellent audio quality, such as SoundBlaster, Digigram, Yamaha, M-audio, AudioScience, etc. To use the software Commercial and Maker, you will not need a good quality soundboard, and the on-board devices will be enough.
Radio stations that look after audio quality and require more input/output can use external soundboards which offer lots of resources and robustness. To this case, we recommend: M-Audio EIGHT; Preasonus AudioBox 1818VSL; Tascam US-4×4 and/or similar.

Operating System:

All Playlist products run in any Windows starting on Windows 7. It’s always recommended being up-to-date when it comes to the used OS, mainly if you own newest equipment and requires more stability on the information’s processing. In tests, we’ve observed greatest success with the Windows 8 or higher. We recommend, in preference order, Windows 8, Windows 10, and Windows 2012 Server.
To the use in all Windows versions mentioned, they must be updated with the update packs offered by Microsoft. For more information, get in touch with Playlist Support.
The Software Playlist Digital, Maker, Logger 2.0, Audie, Smart Manager, Commercial and Logger Manager are not available to Linux and IOS environments.
Warning: Even as the playlist software does not have any problem when used on Windows XP, we do not recommend its use with our software. That’s because there’s no chance of technological evolution on Windows XP, once Microsoft has finished any kind of support and evolution.
